Card #23 – Washi tape Card
I started by assembling all my supplies.
I love washi tape! Washi tape is a Japanese paper tape that comes in all different colors and patterns and is really versatile. I’ve used it in card making before when I made a Valentine’s card and a St. Patrick’s Day card. It’s also fantastic for scrapbooking and journaling.
For this card I used plum textured cardstock (4 1/4″ X 11″) for my base and white cardstock for the front panel.
I started by choosing 5 coordinating rolls of washi tape. I took a piece of white cardstock and starting laying down strips of each washi tape repeating the pattern twice. Once the tape was on the cardstock I took my brayer and rolled the paper to make sure the tape was adhered well.
I took the white cardstock front panel and punched flower shapes in a fairly haphazard fashion. I then glued this panel to the washi tape cardstock and trimmed the excess.
Before I stamped the sentiment, I punched several flowers from the remaining washi tape cardstock and attached foam squares. Positioning them at an angle to each flower cutout on the white cardstock, I pulled the release paper on the foam square and glued them.
I finished the card by stamping the sentiment, adding some rhinestone gems and going over the flowers with my Wink of Stella glitter brush pen.
Here is the finished card.

Until tomorrow,
I just want to make sure I understand – These washi tape things aren’t treats? I’m not supposed to gnaw on them like they’re a delectable morsel? Got it!
Now this is my favorite card!!
Clever use of the washi tape! I have some because it’s pretty but I don’t really know what to do with it. This is a great idea! 🙂
Thanks so much.
