Card #22 –  A Window Card

Card 22 Supply Layout1_136146_FSI started by assembling all my supplies.

I’ve had this stamp set for a while and today I decided to take it out for a drive.  You stamp the front and back of a puppy or a kitten and attach them so it looks as if they’re peeking through a window.  When you open the card there’s a surprise inside.

I used avocado cardstock (8 1/2″ X 5 1/2″) for my base, patterned paper (4″ X 5 1/4″) for the cover panel and flag, scrap white cardstock for the stamped images and scrap avocado cardstock for the flag and stars.

Stamp embossed and colored to create front and back of the puppyCard 22 5I started by die cutting the front of the card and the cover panel.  I used my circle frame die cuts and cut towards the middle left of the card.

I stamped, embossed and colored the front and back of the puppy.  After cutting them out, I glued them, wrong sides facing, together.

Card 22 10I used my tape runner to glue the patterned paper to the front of the avocado cardstock and then adhered the puppy image just over the lip of the lower circle.  This gives the illusion that the puppy is leaning on the circle.Card 22 6

I stamped the sentiment on the die cut banner and backed the banner with matching patterned paper.  I glued the banner inside the card just above the puppy in the circle.  Here’s a picture of the inside of the card.  Oh man, I love puppy butts!

I finished the card by gluing down the die cut stars and some enamel dots.  I went over the stars with Glossy Accents to give them a dimensional finish.

Here is the finished card.
