Turning 50 in 50 days.

It’s a bit hard to believe, but in 50 days I will be 50 years old.  It’s hard to believe because I generally think and feel like I’m in my late 30’s ;-).  Age is such a strange creature.  It sneaks up on you in a blink of an eye and yet it’s not a blink, is it?  It’s 50 years… 600 months… 18,250 days… 438,000 hours… 26,280,000 minutes.  Ok, the number of minutes is HUGE!!!!

I’ve never been bothered by birthdays and increasing age… in fact, I’m really grateful I get to age.  Some people don’t.  I love looking back on the years to appreciate the changes and looking forward with anticipation for what the future holds.  I really hope that I’m getting better with age, although there are many areas where I still need to knuckle down and work.  That’s okay… I’m not entirely sure we’re ever done growing and learning.

So why am I telling you this?  Well, I’ve wanted to re-start my blog for a while now and haven’t quite figured out how to do that.  An opportunity (which I’ll tell you about tomorrow) came up to mark the days off before my 50th and I thought it would also be a great time to get into the habit of blogging again.

For the next 50 days, I’ll post something each day.  After that I’ll post a few times a week, but mostly I want to stay consistent.  I love interacting with readers and sharing ideas and interests.

I hope you’ll join me over the next 50 days and further if you like.  While you’re here, feel free to browse through older posts.  This blog has been around for a few years (on and off) and there’s some fun stuff to read.

I’d love to hear of ways you’ve celebrated significant birthdays.

Until tomorrow,
