A list of things I am thankful for…

Today, as we celebrate Thanksgiving here in the U.S., I thought I would list some of the many things I am thankful for.  In keeping with my Quest47 theme, I chose 47 things in no particular order…

  1. The depth and breadth of God’s love for me.  It takes my breath away.
  2. My husband –  for his consistent pursuit of ‘Love God. Love others’. And for his faithful love and care of me for 32 years (27 married + 5 dating).
  3. For 47 years – Not everyone gets the chance to grow old.  I’m grateful for the 47 I’ve had.
  4. Mobility – I may not be in the best shape, but I’m so thankful that I can move around.
  5. My sewing machine – making stuff is such a joy of mine and I’m grateful for this handy tool in my arsenal.
  6. My parents (mine and Mike’s) who have always been my greatest cheerleaders.  They show me daily what sacrificial love looks like.
  7. Insulin – well, without it, things would not be pretty.
  8. Friends who enrich my life in a million different ways.  You know who you are.
  9. My nieces and nephews – I think I have the BEST collection of nieces and nephews ever.  I love them all to pieces.
  10. My dogs.  Ones who have passed and those currently sitting at my feet.  Life is just brighter and happier with them in it.
  11. My dental hygienist – She’s so awesome.  We always talk about our dogs and she never judges me for the lack of flossing.
  12. Gold Bond Ultimate Shea Butter Lotion – my go to lotion for incredibly dry skin.
  13. My hairdresser – She has been cutting my hair for 33 years.  You can say we’ve sort of grown up together.
  14. My paper cutter  – good tools make all the difference when crafting.
  15. My brothers and sisters (mine and Mike’s) – who we’ve watch grow into fantastic adults.  Love these guys.
  16. My glasses – without them I’d be blind as a bat.  I really love seeing.
  17. This blog – this experience has enriched my life in ways that have surprised me and humbled me.
  18. My pastor – such a blessing for our church and a good friend.
  19. My iPhone – an invaluable tool.
  20. For the internet –  there really isn’t anything you can’t learn.
  21. My home – we have shelter and warmth.  That’s a lot.
  22. My vet – she’s so awesome at working with all the different personalities of my dogs.
  23. My planner –  I’ve finally made one that meets my planning needs. So fun to use.
  24. Friends who trust me to care for their dogs.
  25. My laptop – a tool with infinite possibilities.
  26. For Netflix and TV Series – there’s nothing like binge-watching over a weekend.
  27. For coffee – the aroma, the warmth, the taste, all of it.
  28. Running, clean water – We support kids who live in parts of Africa where this isn’t a reality.
  29. For handmade soap – it’s really quite lovely.
  30. My car – provides me with the freedom to go places.
  31. Our appliances – they sure make necessary chores easier.
  32. My doctor – she’s the absolute best.  Always makes me feel like I’m the only patient she has.
  33. For books (paper and audio) – they take me to faraway lands, introduce me to new ideas and keep me company while I craft and do chores.  Authors are the most amazing people.
  34. My grandpa – so thankful for his 97 years.
  35. Walking the dogs everyday – it’s the same route every day, but they show me that it’s important to have unspeakable joy despite the repetitiveness of life.
  36. For Facebook – allows me to be connected to family oversees and keep in touch with friends far and wide.
  37. Annual trips to England with my mom to see my grandpa.
  38. Knitting – I marvel at what can be produced with two sticks and a piece of string.
  39. My Shop Vac – makes cleaning so much easier.
  40. For walnuts and pecans – love the texture and the taste and the negligible carbs.
  41. My bed – it’s warm and comfortable.
  42. Mike’s cooking skills – he’s really very good and very inventive.
  43. For Amazon Prime – We definitely get our money’s worth.  And we get to watch free movies and shows.
  44. The creative blogging community – I learn so much from fellow bloggers.  There really are so many clever people out there.
  45. My camera on my phone – just love capturing pictures of our life.
  46. Mike’s 23 years at Youth for Christ – so grateful for the privilege to impact kids lives.
  47. Health insurance – yes, it’s all a bit confusing, but so incredibly thankful we have it.

What are you thankful for today?

WEM

“We’re thankful for chasing squirrels, treats, snuggling with you at night, treats, breakfast, lunch, dinner, treats, playing catch, treats, long walks, treats, helping dad in the yard, treats, friends to play with, treats, long naps on our cozy beds, treats, sitting in the sun, treats…”
