Welcome to the {Bird, Bird, Bird is the Word} blog series. Every day during the month of May, I’ll be posting a bird craft or bird-related item on my blog as well as placing that object on my wall tree. I can’t wait until the end of the month when my tree will be alive with a collection of chirpy chums.
So far, 13 birds have landed on our tree. We have one bird house “Home Tweet Home”, but that is not sufficient anymore, so I added another one so everyone can spread their wings. (pun intended)
Butterfly Inn is a two-door bird house with a yellow roof, striped exterior and beautiful yellow butterfly on the peak of the roof. I first painted the house white, then covered it with patterned paper. Don’t look too closely at my joins. I would have been a lousy wallpaper-er. I finished up the house by painting the roof and base bright yellow and attached a yellow butterfly with a tiny pink button.
Pete, Polly and Charlie are super excited that Butterfly Inn is so close to them on the tree. They’re happy to have such an easy commute and now this provides more space at “Home Tweet Home”. With the exception of Douglas and Olivia the owls, the rest of the birds spend their days on the branches. At night, though, they like to have a place to close their eyes.
I’ll probably be adding a couple more bird houses before I’m done, but for now everyone’s happy.
Here’s a view of the tree so far.
Thanks for stopping by and hope to see you tomorrow,
I’m glad the birds have extra space to sleep. Maybe we should get a bigger bed so we can have extra space to sleep?
It’s fun to watch your tree fill up! 🙂
Thanks :-). It is fun now that it’s starting to fill.
