Every now and then when I’m walking dogs, I will just stop, ask them to sit for about 30 seconds and then I will say “walk on”. That is there cue to start walking again. I do this for a couple of reasons: 1. They’re super focused when they’re on the walk and I like to know I can get their attention any time I need it. 2. It’s good to continue to incorporate training into their daily routines. Just as we need to continue to refine our skills, so must dogs.
This always reminds me how important it is for me to pause and reflect on the past week and then think about the next one as I “walk on”.
Paws | Week of 2.1-2.7
• called my Grandpa in England.
• finished my wall tree for Valentine’s Day. Almost. When I say “finished”, I mean that I put all the decorations up that I had last year, but it needs more. I’ll be working on that this next week.
• had dinner with friends.
• picked the Grand Giveaway winner for the January Card Series || Cards for 2015.
• made serious progress with tidying my craft room. All with the help of my mom. Decided to part with some supplies that I’m really never going to use. Dropped them off at Goodwill and was asked, “Did you own a craft shop or something?” Well sort of…
• worked on my Journal52 Art Journal (Quest46 #7)
• watched the Super Bowl. Such an exciting game!
• got my hair cut.
• started February’s Photo-a-Day challenge.
• met for coffee and knitting with friends. Planning to work on a project together to donate.
• had a routine Dr. appointment.
• mailed off a “thinking of you gift” – Quest46 #11
• continued reading Silenced by Dani Pettrey
• received a lovely long letter and a wonderful gift of yarn and paper crafts from my pen pal in Australia. That was a happy mail day!
• walked the dogs almost everyday. Decided to keep track of our walks on a calendar. So far for 2015: 31 out of 38.
• continued to watch my amaryllis grow. They are the most amazing flowers.
• paid the bills.
• still working on Margaret’s scarf. This is what it looks like so far. It was a bit longer, but I had to rip out about 30 rows when I discovered a mistake. All better now.
Walk On | Week of 2.8-2.14

• knit and drink coffee with friends.
• make some cards for birthdays (yea!) and for sympathy (boo!)
• make a couple of waterproof dog bed pillow inserts for a custom order.
• keep up with the Photo-a-day challenge for February.
• make a bird for my wall tree for Valentine’s.
• go to the Valentine’s Sweetheart Dinner at our church.

My favorite quote from the week: “Never stop showing someone how much they mean to you.” Unknown.
We’d like to suggest some dog paw heart type decorations for the wall tree. No idea what that would look like, but you’re the crafty one.
