Mike and I are celebrating our 25th wedding anniversary this year on July 9th.  Last month as I was thinking through what I wanted to do in the new year, I thought about how we wanted to celebrate our day and then the idea popped into my head that we could celebrate all year, like the Queen.  She just celebrated her 60th year as the Monarch and they had a year-long party.  So that’s what we’re going to do.

Each month of this year on the 9th, we will pick some aspect of our wedding or the last 25 years to celebrate.  Today we will be listening to and watching our wedding ceremony.  The church taped (yes, on a cassette tape) the service for us and we’re going to dust that baby off and give it a listen.  I think I might transfer it to a CD while I’m at it.  A friend of the family also video taped the rehearsal and the ceremony.  I watched the rehearsal this morning and must admit, I actually had tears.  It’s going to be a wonderfully emotional day! 

“You know while you’re doing all this ‘celebrating’, we could start early on my birthday.  You’ve only got 11 months to get ready for that big day!”
